BonBonBon

BonBonBon is a brand that offers a selection of high-quality sweets and chocolates in the presentation of a gift, specifically for someone's significant other. Due to having a limited number of physical stores around the US, this e-commerce website aims to sell their boxes and offer pre-ordering for special occasions.

The masthead takes the form of a logo of the brand, which is conventional for an e-commerce website as the brand is the basis of all the products. The logo uses a play on a donut, with the O of BonBonBon being implemented centrally to represent the hole of a donut. The three Bs and three Ns are placed around the O, creating an illusion of Bon being spelt three times. This design helps to incorporate the repetition of the brand name in a playful way. The bubbly font used for this is a vital part of the house style, mainly being used as headings for copy. This is effective as it is bold, expressive and feminine.

BonBonBon uses a minimal amount of copy throughout their page. The copy used is straight to the point and keeps a light-hearted tone to the page. 'Bonjour' creates a conversational tone and ties in with the French origins of their brand name. The main image displays a worker producing some of the chocolates in a batch. The worker is wearing gloves, emphasising the cleanliness of the brand. The call-to-actions of 'shop all' and 'place a large order' are placed in bright teal boxes, contrasting with the brown of the chocolate and the pink used as the main background. These array of colours create a lively tone to the page and highlights the friendly nature of the brand.

Such as the movement of the copy The webpage uses interactive elements to create a carousel movement. This brings more attention to the taglines on the front page, but also allows them to be more prominent on the page without clutter as the movement through the copy creates more white space to be utilised at a time. Below the fold, these images are also arrayed in movement, creating an entertaining display of the leisure these treats provide.

The navigation varies on the webpage. In the left-hand corner of the home page, a navigation bar is the only element of the top banner other than the shopping bag illustrated on the other side. Once selected, the user is presented with a variety of links to other pages, with certain categories such as 'Shop All' having more specialised sections that are accessible once clicking on the arrow. The ability to search is near the top of this bar. Search is a tool that isn't as likely to be used on this kind of e-commerce website, as their options fall under the same market and can be browsed easily without having to go through thousand alternative products.

Near the bottom of the page, an alternative navigation bar is displayed with fun and colourful graphics in circles representing different pages of the website. This offers easy navigation for the users even when reaching the bottom of the page, making redirection to a different page even simpler.
